What is the behaviourist approach to learning and its evaluation

  • Studies observable behaviour in labs, where it can be controlled and measured
  • Believe human learning is just a more complex form of animal learning so animals can replace humans in experiments
  • Classical and operant conditioning

- Lab experiments
- Real life application e.g. token economies and phobias
- Are animals really comparable to humans? they have little or no conscious
