Controlled, operated and maintained by the government (NHS)
What is the private sector? And an example
The part of the economy that is owned by private individuals or organisation, not the government (private hospitals/clinics)
What is the voluntary sector? And an example
Organizations that wants to better the public rather than making profit, aka third sector or community sector (Charities like Age UK)

What is hospice care?
Care that focuses on the quality of life for people who are experiencing an advanced, life-limiting illness
Holistic meaning
Providing physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs
What is residential care?
Care of adults and children needing 24 hour care, that cannot be provided in a home setting
What are the two types of residential care?
Residential care home- providing personal care e.g. washing, dressing, taking meds
Nursing home- personal care and 24 hour support from a qualified nurse
What is domiciliary care?
Care provided in an individuals home rather than a specialist setting
