Physical abuse

Emotional abuse-behaviors that threaten and humiliate another person
Neglect-failing to provide for physical, emotional, educational, or medical needs for a child or dependent(75%child abuse cases are due to neglect)

-Men who abuse believe is male supermacy

-Delayed growth and development
-Poor cleanliness and hygiene
-Inadequate clothing and basic supplies
-Hoarding or stealing food
-low record of school attendance
-Basic medical and dental needs are not met
What are the common signs of physical abuse(Child)
-Delays in seeking care for injuries
Conflicting or changing stories regarding the injury
-Injury not typical for a given age group(femur fractur in 2 month old)
-Numerous brusing or injuries in various stages of healing
-Brusing of unusual areas(abdomen, back, butt)
-Bruises or injuries that resemble specific objects(cigarettes, belt buckle, looped pattern)
-Burns that resemble forced immersion into scalding water(glove, or stocking burns)
What are common signs of sexual abuse
-Reddness, bruising, or tearing in the genitalia area
-Sexual behavior or knowledge thats inappropriate for the childs age
-Pregnancy or STI

-victim may suffer from low self-esteem and feeling s of dependency
