Acids & Base Titrations Flashcards
(5 cards)
What is a standard solution?
A solution of precisely known concentration.
What is a primary standard?
a substance which can be obtained in stable, pure and soluble solid form so that it can be weighed out and dissolved in water to give a solution of accurately known concentration.
What is a titration?
a type of volumetric analysis where the concentration of a solution is determined by reaction the solution with another solution of known concentration.
What is the equivalence point of the titration?
The point where two solution react completely with each other. The number of moles of acid equal the number of moles of base at this point.
What is the end point of a titration?
When an indicator is used to show the equivalence point.
