Laertes requested to go visit paris which Claudius granted and Hamlet desire to return to school but Claudius rejected his offer and argued that he is to much in greif to leave.

His greif for his father death is still present and the title going to his unworthy uncle and they way Claudius speak to Hamlet can cause some anger during this story

The reason he advised this to his sister is because due to hamlet position in royalty his choice can’t be love but just a political factor so he warn his sister to be cautious.

In Polonius speech his says one thing than says the opposite to counter for example “listen to everyone but trust a few”.

Is to not spend so much time with Hamlet and to not take any of Hamlet love vows seriously.

He is annoyed with Claudius because of all of the commotion due to the party.
