Q

What is the difference between recognition of something and being able to actively recall it?

A

Recognition of something (the recollection of a memory through a prompt) results in a false sense misconception of “knowing” it. When you know and understand something you are able to recall it at any given time, which is the definition of active recollection.

Q

Why should you integrate active recall into your note taking into study sessions?

A

It generously saves time since when you actively recall something it means you understand that concept you just learned and so you won’t need to review it again at a later time.
