Describe the major thought/issue(s) in a pseudonymous Pauline letter [your choice of the 6].

A

The Epistle to the Ephesians, a pseudonymous Pauline letter, highlights the unity of Jews and Gentiles in Christ, the church as the Body of Christ, and the necessity of spiritual armor against demonic forces. It also provides ethical guidelines emphasizing love, humility, and purity while revealing the mystery of the gospel, which includes Gentiles in God’s salvation plan through Christ.

Q

What does it mean that Jesus is our “High Priest”?

A

I think it means when Jesus is our “high priest,” Jesus represents us before God and intercedes on our behalf. He understands our struggles and weaknesses and offers Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, reconciling us with God and making it possible for us to have eternal life.

Q

Reflection: One thing you have learned these past two months and how can you use it in your life?

A

I learned about the the history of early Christian life, and the letters of Pauline remind us that perseverance and hard work are essential to achieving our goals and building meaningful communities. We all start small, with just an idea or a spark of inspiration, but by dedicating ourselves to our passions and staying committed to our goals, we can achieve great things. This lesson is particularly relevant in today’s world, where we often face challenges and obstacles that can seem overwhelming. By staying focused and refusing to give up, we can overcome even the most difficult challenges and make a positive impact on our own lives and the lives of those around us.

23
Q

What significance does Peter have on the early church?

A

Peter was one of the leading figures in the early Christian community, often considered to be one of the twelve apostles and a prominent spokesperson for the faith. He played a role in spreading the Gospel, particularly among the Jewish communities, and was instrumental in the establishment of the early church.

24
Q

In Acts, why did Jesus tell the disciples to wait for his gift/promise? Jesus’ Ascension??

A

Jesus tells people to wait for the Holy Spirit. Jesus told them that it is important for them to wait so that they could be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. He told them to wait to let them know that they would not be able to continue preaching and Jesus’ work without the Holy Spirit, they would not be able to do it on their own. Jesus did this because he told them that the Holy Spirit will help them and guide them to his teachings and remember them. Jesus also did this to reveal the greatness of the Holy Spirit and the faith his disciples should have in it.
