How does acute inflammation start?

A

Sensation: Cells in the body sense damage or invasion. The cells include Langerhans/dendritic cells, mast cells, and macrophages.

What types of receptors are involved in acute inflammation?

A
  1. TLRs - sense cytokines/extracellular DAMPs or PAMPs
  2. NLRs - sense intracellular DAMPs or PAMPs
  3. Fc receptors - responsible for Ab mediated effects.
