Q

DMS

A

Driver monitoring system: To make sure the driver is available (att ta över kontroll över ratten under AD), we have a DMS which is a system based on cameras which can detect driver behaviors such as the drivers’ gaze direction, eye blinking frequency, head- or body movement. In addition to the cameras, the system also uses sensors to detect if the driver is present in the driver seat and the seatbelt is buckled. The system also includes a capacitive sensor on the steering wheel which is capable of detecting if the driver is holding the steering wheel or not. This is used to make sure the driver is holding the steering wheel when taking over vehicle control, and to inform the driver of which mode they are in.

Homologation
Vehicle homologation refers to the process of certifying that a vehicle complies with the necessary technical and legal requirements to be deemed roadworthy and safe for public use. These requirements encompass a wide range of aspects, including safety features, emissions, performance, and construction standards (är en mer formell process där en produkt testas och godkänns av en officiell myndighet för att användas inom ett specifikt område eller marknad, ofta med fokus på fordon och deras komponenter)

36
LKA
37
LDW
Lane departure warning - warns drivers when they are leaving their lane unexpectedly
38
LIDAR
39
sLKA
Safety lane keeping aid
40
41
LSCA
Low speed collision avoidance
42
LVC
Longitudinal vehicle control
43
MRM
Minimal risk maneuvre - is the fallback function by an Automated Driving System (ADS) to achieve a Minimal Risk Condition (MRC) which is a stable, stopped state. If the driver is deemed unavailable and does not respond to the transition demand the Ride Pilot will escalate into a Minimum Risk Maneuver. The feedback to the driver is escalated through all communication channels (visual, sound and haptic warnings) with the addition of kinesthetic feedback through brake pulses, and the vehicle slowing down.
44
MRC
45
NDRT
Non-driving related task
46
NPA
Navigation pilot assist
47
OBD
On-board diagnostics - a term referring to a vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability.
48
ODD
Operational design domain - define the operating conditions under which a vehicle's automated driving systems can be safely engaged
49
Out of the loop performance problem
a phenomenon in which operators of automated systems are less capable of performing a task after they take over control of the system compared to manual operators. One of the biggest concerns for these higher levels of driving automation is that the driver must take over vehicle control following a period in which they were not engaged in the driving task, which could lead to a problem known as the out-of-the-loop performance problem.
50
OTA

51
PAC

52
PCA
Precautionary assist - mjukare inbromsning än collision avoidance - den går in lite tidigare
53
PA
Pilot assist
54
PF-518
ID-number for Surround View
55
Post impact braking
a safety system that automatically brakes the vehicle after an impact. After a crash, it decelerates the vehicle down to stand still and holds the vehicle stationary. The overall intention with the function is that the vehicle kinetic energy shall be reduced to a less severe level. The driver shall also be able to regain control of the vehicle faster after a first impact, by overriding the function. Both contributes to mitigate or avoid subsequent collisions
56
Product compliance
57
PRSP
Product safety system plan
58
RADAR
59
RCWM
Rear Collision Warning & Mitigation - Warns vehicle coming fast from behind by flashing both turning indicators to try to avoid collision. If collision is avoidable, the seat belts are contracted and if the vehicle is at stand still full braking is engaged to prevent it from accelerating more than nescessary.

Time budget
In the context of conditionally automated driving, the time given to drivers to take over before reaching the system limit is called the time budget, and it is defined as the time between the moment the TOR is issued and the time at which the vehicle would have reached the system limit assuming no driver response.
