Adjective
part of speech that describes or limits a noun or pronoun
Descriptive adjective
describes a noun or pronoun
Limiting adjective
points out a person, place, or thing, shows number, shows possession or ownership, and asks a question
Attributive adjective
a descriptive adjective that is placed either immediately before or immediately after the noun or pronoun it describes
Numeral adjective
points out a person, place, or thing by showing exact number
Pronominal adjectives
Names because when they have a different function in a sentence, they are pronouns
Four kinds: demonstrative, possessive, interrogative, and indefinite
The article THE
A definite article that points out a particular PPT and may modify either singular or plural nouns or pronouns
The articles A and AN
Indefinite articles that point out one or a number of persons, places, or things and may modify only singular nouns or pronouns

Use before a word that begins with a consonant sound
Use of the article AN
Use before a word that begins with a vowel sound

Modifies a noun or pronoun by pointing out a particular PPT

this, that, these, those
Possessive adjective
modifies a noun or pronoun by showing possession or ownership

Interrogative Adjective
modifies a noun or pronoun by asking a question

Indefinite adjective
modifies a noun or pronoun by pointing out no particular PPT

The Positive Degree of Comparison
-is the adjective itself
-show, quality, quantity, or value,
-shows no comparison
-is the basis for forming the comparative and superlative
The Comparative Degree of Comparison
-shows quality, quantity, or value in greater or lesser degree
-is used when speaking of two persons or things
The Superlative Degree of Comparison
-shows quality, quantity, or value in the greatest or least degree
-is used when speaking of three or more persons or things

Comparative degree of few and is used when comparing number
Use with plural words to compare things that can be counted (number)
Less
Comparative degree of little (as in not much) and is used when comparing quantity
Use with singular words to compare an amount (quantity)
