Central obesity, Moon face, Buffalo hump, Easy bruising, Striae, Hypertension
Investigations for Cushing’s syndrome
Urine 24hr cortisol, Serum ACTH, CRH stimulation test, CT/MRI
Management of Cushing’s syndrome
Conservative: Stop exogenous steroids
Medical: Metyrapone, Ketoconazole
Surgical: Adrenalectomy, Transsphenoidal resection, Tumour removal
Causes of adrenal insufficiency
Addison’s disease, TB, Metasteses, Steroid withdrawal
Symptoms of adrenal insufficiency
Weight loss, Tiredness, Depression, Psychosis, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Constipation, Abdominal pain, Myalgia, Syncope, Coma
Signs of adrenal insufficiency
Postural hypotension, Hyperpigmentation, Vitiligo

Bloods: U+Es, Glucose
Synacthen test
Blood findings with adrenal insufficiency
U+Es: Raised K, Low Na
Low glucose
Management of adrenal insufficiency
