A

They kept swapping out active personal every few months to train them.
They used fake mock up tanks such as using wood to train their armoured devisions, (they also had help from the Soviet Union in making and testing tanks

A

They went through the netherlands and belgum and blitzkreged them. The french left the Ardens underdefended and the Germans pushed through there

A

They would useually use “wolf pack tatics” where the launch multipule torpedoes from diffrent angles making it difficult to evade the torpedoes and to find where they came from

A

A

They feard that the US battleship/carrier fleet would easly destoy theirs so they wanted to destory it ahead of time

A

The japanise didn’t bomb any of the fuel or repear yeards, the US carrier fleet was not present at pear eather

A

The japanese wanted to invade and controll midway but failed due to their admral being a bit of an idiot

A

All 4 Jap carrier were and no landins on midway could take place without nutralising island

A

They had information thay the Japs were going to attack and when so they lunched their carrier fleet North to catch them off gaurd and bombed when the carriers were servacing the aircraft for another attack on midway

What was the Doolittle raid?

A

It was a raid where 16 US army bombers lanuch from an aircraft carrier (Hornet) to bomb Tokyo after pearl harbour. They sucseeded and manage to bomb a Jap ship being built in a dockyard which destoryed it.

Why was the Doolittle raid such an importaint victory?

A

Even though 1 air crew made it back it boosted the Moral of all Americans and it proved to the Japanise there wernt so invicable

A

It would alow US B29s to reach and bomb the Japanise mainland wich would lower Japanise moral

Why did the Naval barrage on Iwo Jima not work?

A

It didn’t work because it was only a 3 day instead of a 7 day barrage. They also couldn’t fly spotter aircraft as the conditions were overcase or zero at some times and also the Japs had allready prepared and were in defensive fortifications.

A

The captains were to scared to come closer to the shore as they feared mines or sandbanks

A

Since they were scattered everywhere the germans couldn’t really counter attack because they were everywhere. The paratroopers could still rally and ambush and suult their objectives whilst the germans didn’t know what was going on
