Q

How is energy produced by respiration used by plants?

A

To build up sugars, nitrates and other nutrients into amino acids which are then used to make proteins

Q

Why does the body respond to exercise in this way?

A

To increase blood flow to muscles, to increase the supply of glucose and oxygen (increasing rate of respiration so more energy is produced) and increase the rate of removal of carbon dioxide.
