Q

Vogs bottle vogs system RC

A

Valve operated gas system, uses nitrogen to open valves, because the RC can’t be contaminated with hydraulic oil from leaks/drips

16
Q

ATUs

A

Treats and cools air

17
Q

CAMS HPL

A

Centralised atmosphere monitoring system, program different for methanol

18
Q

Emergency core cooling system

A

Takes water from everywhere to cool core, takes away AFFF

19
Q

Pressuriser

A

Keeps pressure

20
Q

Make up system and pumps

A

Pumps in like a piston , coolant and pressure into primary system

21
Q

Full leak protection switch

A
22
Q

Primary system

A

Reactor , water under pressure, pressuriser keeps it under pressure and takes out any surge , passes through MSSV and transferred into secondary systems and into tube banks -TGs main engines , condensers then turn back into water and it goes to hot well and extraction pumps take it out the Hotwell and back into the feed pumps and they feed back into the system

23
Q

MRS pedestal

A

Reactor scram switch FULL/partial
Battle short switch to remove limitations in case of torpedo evasion and floods to surface

24
Q

AFF in detail

A

Av+b gets reduced to 8.6 bar, gets put into no4 reserve feed tank, splits into 2, half goes to AFF tank(455litres) half goes to the top of the tank, they mix via orophis plates which are like teeth

25
Q

AFF feeds

A

Freon flat,
engine room port and STBD,
DG room ,
thrust block flat ,
naval stores
Anywhere with oil

26
Q

Water mist in detail

A

Nitrogen stored at 276 bar, isolation is N215, nitrogen pressurises 2 gas pumps and pressurises water misk tank, feeds everywhere aft with exception of MR as it is a citadel

27
Q
