Q

What are the three types of parasite drag?

A

Form drag is created as a result of the body of the airplane going through the air and is affected by the size and shape of the airplane and any objects on its surfaces.

Interference drag is created as a result of the vortices that form where two surfaces of the airplane join at a sharp angle such as where the wings meet the fuselage.

Skin friction drag is created as a result of the friction between the air and the surface of the airplane.
