1) The media establish an agenda and in doing so are not simply reflecting reality but are shaping and are filtering reality for the public
2) The media’s concentration on the issues that comprise their agenda influence the public agenda and these together influence the policymakers agenda
3) The public and the policymakers can possibly influence the media’s agenda as well. It’s how the media’s manipulating us

The media does NOOOOT tell you what to think. The media tells you what to think about. You should analyze this; the media tells you what to think about

  • The media decides what’s important to you
  • It affects your ego-involvement. How personally affected are you by the story. If media doesn’t portray to you it isn’t important
