air filter pre cleaners

used to remove large dirt a debris before it reaches the main section of the air cleaner
pre cleaners may be able to remove as much as 80% of large dirt and debris before air reaches main filter


why do some pre cleaners have angled vanes or blades

so incoming air flow with start a circular motion and fling large dirt and debris to the outside of the filter housing then settling in the dust bowl


exhaust gas aspirator

uses exhaust gas to draw out dust from the dust bowl and blow it out the muffler
has a one way check valve to prevent exhaust gas from entering the air filter


two types of air filters

oil bath
dry type


oil bath air filters

forces air through oil and mesh screens cleaning as it moves through
if air flow is high it can be 98.5% effective


Dry type air filters

can be a single stage or two a stage construction
uses pleated paper as the filter medium dry filters are as much as 99.5% effective in filtration


air inlet and restriction warning gauges

approximate amount of air flow obstruction or restriction by monitoring induction air pressure to filter
