14
Q

What is the stby cooling mode

A

Is a backup function of the normal PACK mode , the affected pack has less capacity then NORMAL pack mode and it stops to work at LOW ALTITUDE AND HOT TEMPERATURES and restart in cold and high altitude

15
Q

Alternate ventilation system

A

AVS provides ventilation to the cabin when both PACK are inop. When airplane is depressurized and switch is ON the AVS on -8 opens the fwd and aft outflow valve fully while in -9 opens the FWD at 10’ and the aft 01 o’clock

17
Q

Humidification system

A

Start to work when cruising above 25000 ft for more then 20 min and auto switch off 1/1.30 min before touchdown

18
Q

Which cargo compartments are heated and available to trnasport live and perishable

A

FWD AND BULK

19
Q

FWD CARGO TEMP RANGE

A

4-27

20
Q

EQUIPMENT COOLING FWD AFT OVERRIDE MODE IF

A
BOTH FAN SUPPLY FAIL
LOW AIRFLOW DETECTED
SMOKE DETECTED
HIGH TEMP DETECTED
FIRE SWITCH IN ARM MODE
OVERRIDE SWITCH PRESSED ON
BOTH FLOW SENSOR FAIL
21
Q

WHAT IS A PECS

A

POWER ELETRONICS COOLING SYSTEM for large motor power distribution system located in AFT E/E compartments, the systems consists in two indipendents pumps and loops

22
Q

How the system can maintain the pressurization of the plane?

A

Discharging conditioned air from the 2 outflow valves

23
Q

How may outflow valves are installed in the b787?

A

Total of 2 one FWD one AFT

24
Q

Why we have POSITIVE and NEGATIVE relief valves?

A

To protect the fuselage against excessive pressure differential

25
Q

Which modes are available for pressurization system

A

MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC

26
Q

In which modes operates the CPCS

A

CLIMB CRUISE AND DESCENT MODE

27
Q

During unplanned level off what happen to the cabin altitude

A

The cabin altitude stop to climb until the airplane start again to climb

28
Q

What happen to the cabin altitude in case of planned level off?

A

Will continue to climb to the target cabin altitude

29
Q

How the system adjust the climb and pressurization

A

Using flight plan data insert in the fmc and using ambient pressure

30
Q

How high can be a cabin altitude in 787

A

Normally up to 6000ft but in degraded mode can reach 8000 ft
