What is the Command task
(1) Provide rescue helicopters for aircraft carriers when embarked.
(2) Simultaneously operate a detachment deployed ashore or aboard H-60 capable surface combatants in company with Carrier Strike Group.
(3) Perform anti-terrorism deterrent.
(4) Perform anti-surface and strike warfare missions.
(5) Perform all other missions assigned within the capabilities of our aircraft, as directed by higher authority.
Squadron consists of five departments
Administration, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Training, Tactics and Readiness (TTR).
Who do department heads report to and what is the function of a department head
To the Commanding Officer through the Executive Officer. Function is to represents the CO in all matters that pertain to his/her department.

The QAO is responsible for the administration and operation of the Quality Assurance Division in support of the squadron’s maintenance program.
When is it required to have a sea bag inspection?
During the month prior to a major deployment, upon transfer to/ from this command, and upon conviction at Court-Martial, CO’s Mast, or when directed.
Who has the authority to order searches of personal property?
The CO has sole authority. The XO has the delegated authority only in the CO’s absence. In the absence of the CO and the XO, the Senior Officer exercising Command Authority is authorized to order searches.
