Class A Dimensions and Requirements
18,000 feet MSL to and including 60,000. Waters within 12 Nautical miles of the coast of the 48 contigous states and Alaska, IFR
Class B Dimensions and Requirements
Surface to 10,000 feet. ATC Clearence, will recieve separation services
Class C Dimensions and Requirements
Surface to 4,000 feet. 5 NM Surface to 1,200, 10 NM1,200 to 4,000 feet. 2 way radio communications.
Class D Dimensions and Requirements
Surface to 2,500, 2 way radio communication
Class E Dimensions and Requirements
Surface or designated altitude. 700 or 1200.
Class G Dimensions and Requirements
Uncontrolled airspace. VFR minimums apply.
Prohibited Areas
Flight of aircraft are prohibited here. Depiceted by a P on the charts. White House, etc.
Restricted Areas
Hazardous to aircraft, not wholly prohibited but may have restrictions. R followed by a number
Warning Areas
United States does not have sole jurisdiction over airspace. 12 NM on the coast
MOA’s
defined vertical and lateral limits, are not numbered, if ATC can provide seperation can fly through if not they have to go around.
Alert Areas
Depicted with an A, contain a high volume of pilot training or an unusual type of aerial activity.
CFA’s
Controlled Firing Areas, No need to put on chart as they stop when an airplane is sited.

Class C VFR Rules
FV: 3 SM DFC: 1,000 ft above, 500 ft below, 2,000 ft horizontal
Class D VFR Rules
FV: 3 SM DFC: 1,000 ft. above, 500ft below, 2,000 ft horizontal
Class E VFR Rules
Above 10,000 ft MSL: FV: 5 miles DFC: 1,000 ft above, 1,000 below, 1 mile horizontal
Below 10,000 ft MSL: FV: 3 Miles DFC: 1,000 ft above, 500 ft below 2,000 horizontal
Class G VFR Rules
1,200 ft or less regardless of MSL: DAY 1 statute mile, clear of clouds NIGHT: 3 miles, 1,000 ft above, 500 ft below, 2,000 horizontal
