Switch your phone off or put it on voicemail
Wait until you are parked legally in a safe space before using your phone
What should you do with your phone whilst driving on the motorway ?
Leave the motorway and stop in a safe place before using your phone
What should you do with your navigation system whilst driving in the car ?
Stop in a safe place before programming it
If you lose your way on a busy road , turn into the side of the road ASAP , stop and check the map
Is it ok to use a handsfree phone when driving ?
Just because its handsfree does not make it safe - The person you are talking to cannot see the traffic situation
It is safer not to use a phone at all if you are driving - wait and find a safe place to stop
What are yellow lines painted at intervals across the road ?
These encourage drivers to reduce their speed - they may be red
Often seen on the approach to a hazard such as a roundabout or a reduced speed limit
What does Blind spot mean ?
Areas that are hidden from the driver either by the cars bodywork or areas not covered by the mirrors
Be aware that a lorry driver cannot see you if you are close behind - keep well back so they can see you
