Dividing fractions
Step 1. Turn the second fraction (the one you want to divide by) upside down
(this is now a reciprocal).
Step 2. Multiply the first fraction by that reciprocal
Step 3. Simplify the fraction (if needed)
2/5 : 10/4
2/5 * 4/10
8/50 -> simplify 4/25
to the power of
82 could be called “8 to the power 2” or “8 to the second power”, or simply “8 squared”
Negative Exponents
Exponent 1 or 0
n to the power of 1 = n
n to the power of 0 = 1
Fractional exponents
Multiplying and dividing variables with exponents
When multiplying: x squred * x to the power 3 = x to the power of 5 simply add exponents
Dividing: x to the power 3 /x squred = x when dviding subtract 3-2 = 1
