(4 cards)
what does BIDMAS stand for
Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.
what is expanding brackets
Expanding brackets involves multiplying each term inside a set of brackets by the term outside the brackets. It’s a key step in simplifying algebraic expressions and solving equations.
what is substitution in algebra
In algebra, substitution involves replacing letters (variables) in an expression or equation with specific values (numbers or other expressions) to evaluate, solve, or simplify. This process essentially means “swapping” a letter for its numerical value or another expression.
what is an expression
An expression in math is a statement involving at least two different numbers (known or unknown) and at least one operation.
