Get absolute value part to one side, then make two equations, one the same, the other one set the non- absolute value side as a negative.
How to solve absolute value inequality
Same thing as an equation, but make sure that the absolute value is not less than a negative number because then it would be no solutions.

Subtract them

What ever cancels out, make sure that you set it equal to zero, then plug it into the SIMPLIFIED equation to find the y-value.

Whatever did not cancel out in denominator, set it equal to 0
How to find horizontal asymptote
Check degree of numerator
