Battle of Lexington and Concord

A

Marked the beginning of the war. The British came to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere warned them so they could escape. The British also wanted to seize their supplies. “The Shot Heard Round the World” began the battle.

The British were outnumbered and not prepared. There was a mass surrender and this turned the tables in the South. Now the British were heading back north.

Patriots raced to trap the British by land and by sea. A British fleet was defeated trying to bring supplies. The British surrendered and the war ended.
