Ball dig beat
A ball beat that hits the floor and stays down
Ball dig tap
A ball beat that hits the floor and rebounds off the floor
Describe the action of a ball dig/ball dig tap.
The leg creates the action but the foot makes the sound
Flap to the toe
A 2 sound action, to the ball ‘a1’ the accent is up. Uses an open leg alignment to the front, weight remains in the supporting leg.
Standard flap
A forward tap, finished with a heavy down beat on the flat of the foot, weight transferring to the wiring leg. Has a relaxed quality.
A basic crawl
A ‘zig zag’ step sideways. Both feet crawl simultaneously.
Single Paradiddle/Paddle
Heel dig, close work pickup, step, heel beat
Separated crawl
A ‘zig zag’ step sideways. Heel and ball beat sounds are separated
Double Paradiddle/Paddle
Heel dig, close work pickup, heel beat, close work pickup, ball dig, heel beat
Crawl with one foot
Weight is on the supporting leg, working foot crawls sideways.

Toe flam
Jazz tendu with a sound. The toe hits inside tip of tap in side shuffle position. The leg makes the action but the foot makes the sound.
Waltz steps
Basic- spring miss ball change
Single- spring shuffle ball change
Double- tap spring shuffle ball change
Flap to the toe
(Seen in G1 in an open leg line and in G4 to second) A 2 sound action, to the ball ‘a1’ the accent is up.
A buffalino crawl
Tap step heel ball heel pickup step heel
Flam
The whole inside of the foot hits the floor, toe and heel in quick succession. Counted n1. Leg makes the action but the toe makes the sound

Toe beat crawl
Toe beat on the working leg, whilst executing heel and ball beat on the supporting leg

Paddle ‘round the sides’
