Anatomy Flashcards
(12 cards)
Cryptorchidism - key layers to pull testicle through
- Deep inguinal ring (transversalis fascia)
2. Superficial inguinal ring (external oblique muscle aponeurosis)
Umbilical hernia syndromes
- Down
- Hypothyroidism
- Beckwith-Wiedemann (big tongue, small head)
Gastric varices vein anastomoses
Top: Left gastric/esophageal
Middle: Paraumbilical/epigastric
Bottom: Superior rectal/Middle and inferior rectal
Microvesicular steatosis vs Macrovesicular steatosis
vs.
Hep B finding
Microvesicular - ASA Reye syndrome
Macrovesicular - Hep C
Abundant pink granules - Hep B
Hirscsprung vs Meconium ileus
Both present w/bowel obstruction/bilious vomiting.
- Meconium ileus = normal rectal tone–> can die of pneumo (CF)
- Hirschsprung = increased rectal tone w/squirt sign–>can die of NEC (Down synd)
Splenorenal ligament
Splenic artery/vein + tail of pancreas
Gastrosplenic
Greater curvature
- Short gastrics, left gastroepiploic
Greater omentum
Gastrocolic ligament - gastroepiploic
Gastrohepatic
Liver to lesser curvature - can be cut to access lesser sac
- Gastric arteries
Hepatoduodenal
Portal triad (hepatic artery, portal vein, common bile duct)
Falciform
Ligamentum teres - fetal umbilical vein
sublingual vs submandibular vs parotid glands - mucin secretion
Sublingual - mucin producing acini
submandibular - serous and mucin producing
parotid - serous producing
