  • insertion = attachment of their intermediate tendon at hyoid
  • function = raises hyoid + opens mouth by lowering mandible

Pos belly

  • origin = mastoid notch on medial aspect of mastoid process
  • insertion = attachment of their intermediate tendon at hyoid
  • function = raises and retracts the hyoid
  • innervation = VII (digastric branch)
