Q

How do they work?

A

Selectively inhibit angiotensin II at AT1 receptor site

Binding of angiotensin at AT1 receptor causes vasoconstriction, release of aldosterone, other harmful CV effects

Therefore, ARBs cause vasodilation and blockage of aldosterone release = decrease BP
