What happens in chapter 1
Set on Manor farm run by MR jones
Old major delivers a speech about how the animals need to rebel against the “TYRANY OF MAN”
Old major also teaches them about The beasts of England song
What happens in chapter 2
Old major dies
Animals plan the rebellion (although unsure when it will occur)
Pigs are placed in charge of educating the other animals due to their vast intelligence
Rebellion occurs and Mr jones is defeated
7 commandments are established
what happens in chapter 3
They prove more effective at harvest than jones and his men ever were even with the difficulties of the equipment
Debates are set up and the animals are split up into different communities
Inequality between pigs and other animals are justified using Squealer
what happens in chaptor 4
as the summer end news of rebellion spreads to other farms
jones then try and retake the farm
but fail
this is named the battle of cowshed
this is because snowball was a great tactician
What happens in chapter 5
Mollie disappears
Pigs increase influence on the farm
Windmill suggested (snowball for/napoleon against)
Snowball is chased out of the farm by the 9 big dogs
Napoleon then tricks the animals into thinking that the windmill was his idea all along
What happens in chapter 6
Animals work increases due to the windmill
Napoleons then opens relations with other farms (interaction with humans )
Hires mr whymper ti act as a solicitor
Pigs move into farmhouse (also against the 7 commandments)
Windmill process broken
Snowball scapegoat
What happens in chapter 7
Hens forced to surrender eggs for the farm
Ends badly as their rations are reduced
lies about snowball arise
What happens in chapter 8
Confessions from those who questioned him and murders them (against the 7 commandments)
Beasts of england is banned and replaced with a song about napoleon
More work less food
Napoleon is tricked by Frederick
Frederick then attacks (loses) known as the battle of battle of the windmill however the windmill was blown up now needs to be made a 3rd time
Pigs drink alcohol

What happens in chapter 9
Animal begin 3rd windmill
Napoleon makes 31 new piglets
schoolroom must be built
Napoleon becomes president
Boxer is sent to the knackers
Benjamin tries notices and tries to save him which he probably wouldn’t of done for other animals
Pigs all get drunk
What happens in Chapter 10
Time skip
New animals
Increased boundaries
second windmill created
Lives continue with little food and a lot of work except the pigs
All animals are equal but some are more equal than others
Pigs carry whips and wearing jones clothes
Farmers come to the farm
Unable to discriminate between the pigs and humans
