A

SNS = lumbar/thoracic region of spine - short pre-gang (ACh) + long post gang (NA)

PNS = cranial/sacral - long pre gang (ACh) + short post gang (ACh)

SNS: phenylephrine adrenoceptor agonist (mydriatic) dilation

PNS: muscarinic antagonist (cycloplegics)
pilocarpine muscarinic agonist (miotics)

Explain the MoAs of these SNS/PSNS drugs

A

Cycloplegics/Mydriatics: inhibits M3 (ACh) receptors inhibits Gq decreases Ca2+ muscle paralysed in SNS

Miotics: agonist in PSNS is opposite of above
