Q

What are two sources of each Anthropogenic greenhouse gas

A

CO2 - Global deforestation and rainforest burning, burning of fossil fuels
Methane - Landfill sites, Cattle
N20 - Car exhausts, Nitrogen fertilisers
Water Vapour - Evaporation from water bodies due to increasing temperatures, more clouds trapping heat due to more evaporation/water vapour

Q

What are 10 impacts of climate change

A
  • Changes in weather patterns
  • Less snow/ice
  • Rising sea levels
  • Decreasing soil stabilty (Desertification)
  • Changes in ocean currents
  • Extincition of around 25% of species by 2050.
  • Ecosytems may be destoyed or become inhabitable (Acidifcation of seas)
  • Food production is impacted due to less rainfall and hotter temperatures leading to less water available for farming

Q

Name 2 local, national and international strategies for mitigating climate change

A
  • Eating locally sourced food
  • Using bikes or public transport instead of cars
  • 5p carrier bag tax
  • reduced road tax for eco-friendly car
  • Worldwide afforestation
