What is ANTT
It’s an infection-prevention measure that protects individuals during invasive procedures by minimising the introduction of microorganisms, which could cause an infection, into susceptible sites, surfaces or equipment
Key parts and key sites for catherisation
Site: insertion site (perineum and urethra)
Parts: whole catheter, part of tubing of urine bag attached to catheter, forceps, syringe hub and nozzle of syringe with lignocaine gel

Standard ANTT

Micro-critcal ANTT
Essential in standard and desirable in surgical – protection of key parts e.g. needle cover
