Duties of Pic
-responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft in flight, the safety and wellbeing of the crew and passengers and cargo
-have final authority to control the aircraft while in command and for the maintenance and discipline of all persons on board
-Be responsible to compliance with the regulations (subject to section 13 of the act)
-power to control/restrain/off load or to reject passengers
-power to authorize other crew to control/restrain
When can a Pic breach a regulation
In an emergency when:
-the emergency involves danger to life or property
-the extent of the breach only goes as far as necessary to deal with the emergency
-there is no other reasonable means of avoiding the emergency
-it is more dangerous to not deviate from the rule.
Pic must notify director of any breach ASAP and provide a written report if requested.

-8hr/day (8.5 for disrupt)
-35hr/7days
-100hr/30days

Duty:
-11hr/day (12 for disrupt)
-29/72hrs
-186hrs/28 days
-2000hrs/365 days
Rest requirements
-10hrs minimum
-12hrs if worked over 11dt/8ft (includes midnight-6am)
-24hrs if 16ft/22dt in 48hrs
-24hrs if 20ft/29dt in 72hrs
-additional 1hr for every 15min over 11hrs (contractual)
Ifr currency
90days: 3hrs it (1hr ift), 3 iap (1 in sim)
