What can your appendices contain?

A
  • Conference summaries, for example yalta or Potsdam.
  • Timelines of key events for example 1941 - 49 or 1917 - 49. Helps shows how quickly things escalated.
  • Primary source extracts - Key quotes or documents you mention but don’t want to fully insert into the essay. For example: Truman Doctrine speech extract, Iron Curtain speech by Churchill, Stalin’s post-war comments.
  • A chart comparing Orthodox, revisionist, and post - revisionist views.

  • Label them Appendix A, Appendix B etc.
  • Give each one a title + shirt caption.
  • Refer to them clearly in your essay (e.g see appendices B for timeline).

- Attendees: Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin.
- Agreements: Free elections in Eastern Europe (disputed). Division of Germany.
- Tensions: Differing views on Poland’s future.
