A

Obstruction in the appendiceal lumen

  • IBD
  • Infections
  • Fecal stasis and fecaliths
  • Others (foreign objects, tumors, etc)

Clinical Manifestations

A

Abdominal pain

  • followed by N/V
  • Migrates from periumbilical area to RLQ
  • Rebound tenderness over McBurney Point, pain on percussion, rigidity, guarding
