november - collapse of papen’s government due to losing armt and schliecher support and setback in nazi votes, schleicher elected as chancellor

why did hitler lose hindenburg’s trust
he refued to join a coalition unless made chancellor

- papen conspired with Hitler who agreed to be part of a coalition as long as he was made chancellor
- hindenburg, papen and hitler agree to take down schliecher bur hindenburg had doubts
- papen assured hindenburg that they could manipulate hitler because he was uneducated
- schliecher asked for dictator powers but hindenburg refused and so he resigned
- hitler made chancellor at the head of a coalition government, hindenburg and papen were in the cabinet
