Diagnostic criteria of ARDS

A

Bilateral opacities that are not fully explained by pleural effusions, lung collapse, or nodules on CXR or chest CT
Etiology of edema not fully explained by heart failure or volume overload
≤1 week since new or worsening respiratory symptoms and/or known clinical insult
Pao2/FiO2 ratio <300 mmHg

A
