Evidence that is too vauge or broad.
General Evidence
Acknowledging the merit of the opposing sides argument
Concession
Evidence that contains detailed information
Specific Evidence
A contradiction made to disprove the other sides disagreement evidence
Rebuttal
Evidence that has a few concrete details but is still slightly imprecise.
Somewhat Specific Evidence
Evidence that hasn’t happened yet, but could. (Weak evidence, should not be used in an argument)
Hypothetical Evidence
Set of reasons given with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong.
Argument
The action of proving a statement or theory to be wrong or false.
Refutation
To contradict and question someones stance.
Challenge
Analysis that explains the significance of the evidence
Commentary
To support a position, usually one you believe in.
Defend
The opposing argument
Counterargument
A claim made to go against a previously made claim
Counterclaim
Where someone stands on a particular issue.
Position
to state a fact or belief confidently
Assert
A statement of the truth of something (IE: Cats are better than dogs)
Claim
To set boundaries for an argument (Yes, but….No, but)
Qualify
When one tries to argue both sides evenly thus not asserting their clear position.
