Dizziness, blurred vision, loss of balance, nausea (similar to vertigo)
Test: pt in supine, extension, sidebending, rotation

Small
Arises near posterior belly of digastric - posterior to external acoustic meatus
Supplies muscles around ear, parotid gland, facial nerve, structures in temporal bone, ear, scalp

Terminal branch of external carotid artery
Gives off several branches in infratemporal fossa

Branches off of first section of subclavian artery (lateral to anterior scalene)

Descends lateral to sternum
Supplies intercostal spaces, then branches
Suprascapular artery
Branch off of thyrocervical trunk (1st part of subclavian artery)
Courses laterally and posteriorly
Supplies posterior scapula
