-This is the phase where behavioural expectations and rules are outlined explicitly for student comprehension. —-Patterns of interaction are established in this phase.

- This phase consists of testing boundaries and exploring limits. In this phase, student(s) may test their peer’s patience, respect, or boundaries.
- The teacher may have their authority tested by the student, leading back to the APPRAISAL phase.

- This includes reflecting on current patterns in interaction and behaviour and designing future methods of communication if necessary.
