How many articles are there in the US Constitution

Article 1
- Congress contains all legislative powers. It consists of the House of Representatives and Senate.
- Contains the requirements on how to become a senator or representative and the powers of them.
Article 2
Terms of presidential role e.g. length of term. Who can be president, and powers of president
Article 3
Powers of judiciary/ Supreme Court. Consists of the roles and expectations on the conduct of judges.
Article 4
rights of citizens in each state. relationship between state and government.
Article 5
Congress can make constitutional amendments with a 2/3 majority in parliament.
How many constitutional amendments have there been?

1st amendment
freedom of religion, speech and press - “equal protection of the laws.
2nd amendment
right to bear arms
4th amendment
right not to be unlawfully searched
5th amendment
right to due process/ rights of the accused
6th amendment
right to fair trial
8th amendment
right to fair punishment
10th amendment
congress can only execute power vested to them in the constitution.
13th amendment
slavery prohibited unless as a punishment
14th amendment
everyone is under the same law
15th amendment
voting rights can’t be abridged
16th amendment
congress has the power to collect tax
18/21st amendment
prohibition of alcohol (then repealed in the 21st amendment)
22nd amendment
president cannot be elected more than twice
25th amendment
in the case of a president’s term ending early, the VP must take over. Also contains the process required to remove a president.
