A soft mallet (not a standard hammer) for the spar pins

Waterproof grease

Closed and locked
How should the team handle the wing install?
Two strongest at the front and back of the wing root, and someone at the wing tip
Who should be in charge of connecting the wing and installing the pin?
The team leader, who briefs the team
What are the two pins for the wing?
The spar pin and the drag pin
What pin goes in the holes when first installing the wing?
The alignment pin.
How does the alignment pin get replaced with the spar pin?
The team should freeze, quickly remove the alignment pin and replace with the main spar pin and carefully hammer it down.
How should the safety pin holes be facing?
Facing forward and backward
What happens after installing the pin?
Connect the aileron control linkage pins and ground straps
What are the connection types in the cables?
El hotellier connections
How do you install the horizontal stabilizer?
Two holding the stabilizer, one at the controls, and one aligning the pins
How are the pins aligned?
The person at the controls pitches up and down until the pins are aligned
How is the stabilizer safety pin installed?
With the hook facing up. After fully installed, rotate the pin down to lock it. Then install the safety wire.
What do you do when finished with installation?
Do a positive control check
What should you do before removing the first wing?
Use wing stands
First disconnect the aileron
How are the pins removed?
Remove drag pin first, then spar pin
How can you avoid cutting your fingers off?
Use a trailing edge protector
What do you do before removing the second wing?
Have the fuselage supported, either through a cradle or someone holding it
