Non reassuring patterns
brady/tachycardia, absence of variability, late decels, variable decels
amniotomy
risk of prolapsed cord, compression or molding of head bc of loss of cushion, increase in pain more difficult to manage
epidural hypotension
prevented w preloading iv bolus, O2, trendlenburg, ephedrine if bp not restored in 1-2 minutes
