What is the B3 fuel data?
Max - 143gal Burn rate - 48gph -15.8gal low fuel light (18 min)
33
B2 Engine failure EP
- set low collective pitch - monitor and control rpm - establish airspeed ~65kts - fuel flow control to shutdown - depending on cause of failure - re-light engine - otherwise: close fuel shutoff, boost pumps off, generator, alternator, electrical master off if burning smell
34
B2 re-light procedure
- Boost pumps on - generator on - NG bellow 30%, normal start procedure.
35
B2 Governor failure - low side
- Establish auto at ~65kts - advance fuel into emergency sector - establish 70% NG - increase collective to 350rpm if necessary - increase fuel until rpm 380rpm
36
B2 Governor failure - high side
- NG, T4, NR increase - do not reduce collective - reduce fuel until rotor speed is center of green arc - continue flight ( any adjustment to collective will need a fuel flow adjustment)
37
B2 Engine fire during start
- Close fuel shut off, rotor brake if needed - booster pumps off - crank for 10 seconds then battery off - use nearby extinguisher to fight fire
38
B2 Fire in flight
- enter auto - close fuel shut off - booster pumps, generator, alternator off - electrical master off if smell of burning
39
Smoke in cabin
- Heater off - Electrical master off - after smoke has cleared set all switches off - reset battery to on - reset master - generator on check voltage - circuits on one by one until malfunction is identified
40
B2 Tail rotor control failure
- 70kts level flight - press hyd test to depressurize yaw load compensator, rest after 5 sec - make a shallow approach with a left side slip - perform run on landing (side slip will reduce as power is applied)
41
B2 Low oil pressure
- test warning light panel ENG P - light does not illuminate - if torque is too low: enter autorotation - if torque is correct: land ASAP - light does illuminate - if torque is too low: land ASAP - if torque is correct: land as soon as practical, monitor eng. P. Light
42
B2 NG indicator failure
- do not exceed torque - keep T4 bellow: - bellow 15° 730° - above 15° 750°
43
Torque meter failure
- Do not allow NG to rise above chart limits
44
B2 T4 failure
-comply with NG limits - do not start
45
Hyd light
- set a/s 40-60kts - collective hyd switch off - shallow approach to no hover landing or around 10kts
46
MGB. P. Warning light
- Reduce power - Land ASAP
47
MGB. T. Warning light
-Test advisory panel for MGB. P. - light does not illuminate, follow MGB. P. EP - light does come on, land and check oil, if oil is normal fly to nearest base.
48
Bat. T. Warning light
- isolate battery - land ASAP
49
B2 ENG. P. Light
- Reduce power - Check pressure indicator: - if pressure is low, read torque meter - torque low, shut down engine - torque normal, land immediately. - if pressure and torque are correct, land as soon as possible.
50
Gen. Light
- test voltage - check push button - attempt reset - shed least essential - land as soon as practical
51
Batt. Light
- check push button - keep watch of voltage - continue flight, according to circumstances
52
Fuel light
- fuel less than 15.8 gallons(18 min) - avoid large attitude changes
53
Door light
- reduce speed 120kts -Land if possible or continue flight at lower speed
54
ENG. chip
- land as soon as possible
55
F Filt.
- reduce power - if light goes out continue flight at reduced power - if light remains on land asap
56
CHIP. TGB
- Continue flight, avoid prolonged hovering
57
CHIP. MGB
- reduce power - Monitor MGB. P, MGB. T. Light - if either light comes on follow appropriate EP
58
B2 FUEL P. Light
- check fuel pressure - if pressure normal, one pump is faulty: continue flight - if pressure zero, both pumps are faulty: continue flight bellow 5000’
59
B3 engine failure
- Establish auto ~65kts - flight selector to off - according to cause: - relight engine - Otherwise: - fuel shut off: off - generator, alternator, electrical master off(if smell of burning)
