Loss of motor strength in upper extremities greater than lower extremities
Central cord syndrome
Often hyperextension in pre-existing cervical canal stenosis
Paraplegia and bilateral loss of pain and temp sensation
But preserved vibrations and deep pressure sense
Anterior cord syndrome - preserves posterior columns
Ipsilateral motor loss
Contralateral lain and temp loss two levels below
Brown sequard
Usually penetrating trauma causing hemisection
Blown pupil - which side is the bleed on?
The same side as the blown - non contracting- pupil
