A
Adenosine Triphosohate.

How is ATP formed?
A
Condensation reaction between ADP and inorganic phosphate. This reaction is known as phosphorylation.

Why is ATP useful as an immediate energy store?
A
-small molecule so easily transported.
-hydrolysis is a one step reaction so releases energy quickly.
-hydrolysis releases small amounts of energy in small manageable steps.
