Q

What were Harlows discoveries into attachment?

A

A study done in 1958 investigated if feeding from a caregiver was an important factor in attachment

Contact comfort - physical closeness/touch

He used monkeys to test this by having them nurse on two types of care givers

Monkeys preferred contact comfort and only went to the iron mother when hungry
