What is anthropomorphism?
The practice of giving human characteristics to non-humans.
What is genesis 3:8-9 about referring to Adam and Eve?
Adam and Eve could hear the sound of God walking in the garden, this gives God human qualities.
What did Freud argue about God?
Freud argues that God is just ‘wishful fulfilment’ meaning we use God as a way to forgive us and save us,
What is the problem with God as a personal?
It anthropomorphises God because it gives the connotation that you have a relationship with God which is a human quality, it makes him appear reliable.

God can’t be gendered, this title also implies that there is a relationship as he’s referred to as the father.

Having and giving love is also a human quality so therefore takes away his unknowing qualities.

With earth being referred to as the kingdom of God suggests that he has dominion over physical land which means that God would be on physical earth.

What is the problem of sin?
Sin stops us getting in to heaven because it damages our relationship with the perfect God

Explain the physical interpretation of judgement.
-Punishment of crime was death or aiming to deter people
-People feared death so were prepared to do anything to reduce time spent in purgatory.

Explain the spiritual interpretation of judgement.
- Heaven is a spiritual state, you experience peace joy and love
- Hell is not a physical realm of torture but one where you’re not in touch with God or at peace.
- Modern science rejects notion of physical resurrection

- Religion is an illusion of the psyche.
- Freud said that ‘the human Psyche is controlled by conscious and subconscious urges’.
