In 1910- 1970, kids of the surviving nations were given to white families to raise in an effort to assimilate.
Aboriginals could only vote in 1962 and were officially recognized as part of the population in 1967.
Tell me about Ayers Rock.
In 1990, the rust-coloured rock was named Ayers Rock / Uluru to acknowledge its name as known by the Anangu people to whom this is a sacred site.
This was switched to Uluru/Ayers Rock in 2002.

The first gold rush between 1850 - 1870: this was just outside of Melbourne. People came from China, Britain, North America, Italy, Germany, Poland, and others.
Diversity and culture increased and population grew.

The gold rush diggers forged the resourcefulness, can-do attitude, and friendliness they are known for.

In 1942 Japan attacked Australia - 10 weeks after attacking Pearl Harbor - they lost.
